Fitness Friday – 07.06.12

This update is going to be a quick one.  I’m beat.  The hubs has been home most of the week, so I worked out like a crazy person Sunday-Tuesday and then toned it down.  We went to the zoo, we walked an outdoor mall, swam with the kids and I snuck in a power strollering class this morning. On the upside, I’ve discovered that I can run for 40 minutes straight, so I feel much better about actually completing the Color Run in TWO WEEKS without walking.  I’m praying the temperatures get a little less gates-of-hell and a little more… reasonable.  I swear, if another person wants to tell me that there is no way global warming is real, I will have to refer them to my throwing up in the woods today during the free run portion of class.  Ugh.  This heat.

Victory of the week: The realization that I can run 2 miles (and probably more) as long as I don’t let my body tell me at a quarter mile my legs won’t go any further.  I was super excited about this and ran 6 miles in 3 days… more than I had last week total!

  1. Woot! Your awesome! I did nothing in this heat, nothing. You were off running and I was at the movie theater eating an entire box of Sweet Tarts. ;)

  2. Mmmm… sweet tarts! Tomorrow begins the birthday celebrations for Liam and all his little friends born in July so I know I have to keep up on the cardio, or I’ll be haunted by the goodies I’m sure to find in front of me. I’m going to call the Y and see if they would let me use their indoor track just so I can run on a track and not a treadmill to see if I can make it to 3 miles.
